Purpose.

It eats away at all of us men, no matter how much we try to distract ourselves, drown out the noise with addictions, or how far ahead we think we are in life.

It asks us the question:

"Why are we here and what are we doing?"

There are a few things that can be tied up in our purpose. Purpose isn't tied up in one specific thing. It's not tied up in doing some THING.

There are three things that purpose is built on:

  1. Do your work. Whatever that is. Whether you have a 9-5 or are an entrepreneur, you must carve out a way to provide for yourself and the people you love and care about. Being broke as a proper gentleman is not an option. You must secure funding sources.

  2. Do your passions. And by do, I mean DO them. Whatever it is you love to do or enjoy, do it. Do a little bit every day. I'm now bouncing around all day between projects because that's what I like to do. I have about four things I'm working on which take a bit of time every day. Making content, writing and editing are things I just love to do. It's the way I express myself.

  3. Do you. Have integrity and be a man who values his own values. Integrity is really a matter of standing on business. You do what you say, are a man of few words, and can be counted on. You have boundaries and speak your mind.

Purpose is a matter of doing. Purpose is the way men build. Purpose forces us through growth and learning.

A proper gentleman knows that to win, to succeed, to build self-esteem and have a sense of pride about our accomplishments that we must tirelessly work.

Do your work, do your passions, do you. Be clean cut about your business. Handle it.

Everything else comes after.
