I've been here twice and can't speak more highly of a place, although it is my first place and really my first attempts at really visiting places and doing a review.
My plan when I do reviews is never to speak down on a place, but give the best points and why I chose the spot for a place to enjoy an experience.
I love walking up the the Ginger Rabbit. You would walk right by it if you weren't looking for it. It gives the feel of a speakeasy, a place that only certain people with privilege know about. I smiled when I walked down the dimly lit entry stairs for the second time.
The usherettes - did I make that up or is that a thing? - helped me find my seat at the bar again and when handed a menu I smiled again as the menu is rated a 9/10. The menu feels like you are at a restaurant that serves $200 plates, but what would I know, I've never been to a place that serves $200 plates. So, I'll settle for saying out of all the places I've ever been, the Ginger Rabbit is the only place that made me realize that a menu can be an important piece to the puzzle of ambience.
They have perfectly curated drinks, pours, wines, and spirits - I had absinthe and it was quite the experience, well worth and bravo to the waiter who served me.;
It was the Zakk Jones band, and it felt like watching some guys jam out. I thoroughly enjoyed the session.
Obviously, I've been there twice, and will be returning, although I need to visit other potential jazz outlets.
Rated a 8.8/10, if you're in Columbus you kind of have to visit if you're a music fan.
