Having Peace in the Uncertainty of Life

Life can certainly be uncertain at times. Most of the time life is VERY uncertain. The more you ride the rollercoaster of life, the more you get used to the chaos of the uncertainty. The more you crave and seek temporary relief from that uncertainty, while simultaneously being drawn to it.
I just watched a post where a girl was saying how she didn't realize a lot of people date people they see no future with. Suddenly it clicked in my head a quote I had heard a few days prior:
"Happiness is a moment of temporary relief from the uncertainty of life..."
Peace is the ACTUAL relief from the uncertainty of life, an acceptance of life in a way. An acceptance of knowing that the moment is all you have. A knowing that we all have random expiration dates. A knowing that the only certainty is in the now. A sobering and fulfilling state of being that removes the need for happiness, because happiness is a choice that is fulfilled by being completely in the now.
Each moment contains the DNA of happiness. That DNA is activated by choice, and if not by choice, becomes purely reactive. Reactive living leaves you chasing moments, ignoring the moment you are in, causes stress and general unhappiness.
It's why the pure form of happiness is peace. Peace is the constant form of happiness that overrides the uncertainty of life. It's a knowing that everything is good, because in this moment everything is good, because the base of every moment is that we are alive and breathing.
You can chase small moments of happiness, be in the moment and choose happiness, or override it all for peace.
The uncertainty of looking at life from a perspective of wondering can be changed to a certain perspective of looking at every moment as if it's the only moment that counts.
The only moment you have is now, and there is something exciting yet peaceful in the acceptance of that fact. When you don't appreciate the moment, you lose time.
